Merit

Must have an average of 69.5% to 79.4% in core subjects.  All marks in all subjects cannot be below VG or 65%

Honour

Must have a minimum average of 79.5% to 100% in core subjects.  All marks in all subjects cannot be below VG or 65%

Please Note:

- Elementary Personal Growth and Development Effort Marks are exempt from this criteria
- "S" Satisfactory Effort Mark disqualifies student from Honour/Merit Certificate during that Reporting Period.  ie:  An "S" in Report Card 1 does not count for Honour/Merit standing in Report Card 2

June Awards

Academic Awards - Awarded to students from both elementary and junior high with an honour standing of 80% or more in their core subjects.

Book Award - Awarded to one student from each grade level to the most deserving student in each homeroom for overall development and contribution to the class and school.

Knighthood Trophy - Awarded to the student(s) who have made a significant contribution to the achievement of the KNIGHTS statement of Lilian Schick School during the school year.  There will be a maximum of 4 students chosen.  These student(s) will receive a plaque, $50.00 and their name will be permanently engraved on the Knighthood Trophy.

Armiger Award - Awarded to the elementary students who have made a significant contribution to the achievement of the KNIGHTS statement of Lilian Schick School during the school year.  A maximum of 2 students are to be chosen.

ATA Grade Nine Award - Awarded to the Grade Nine student with the highest academic average in core subjects.  This student receives a medallion.

Bon Accord and District Lions' Club Awards
Scholarship -
Awarded to the student who has shown above average effort and achievement in their academic studies.  High marks will not be the sole criteria.  Diligence to studies will be equally important.
Service - Awarded to the student who is known among his or her peers and teachers as one who gets involved in school and community activities.  He or she will have shown a concern for others and a willingness to help when needed.  Loyalty to one's family, friends, school and community is paramount.
Athletic - Awarded to the student who has shown a keen interest in some branch of athletics, and have a good mark in Phys Ed as well as a high level of involvement in sports programs both in and out of school.  The major criteria are the degree of effort and interest rather than the level of achievement.

Ray Unger Award - Awarded to a Grade 5 student showing growth and improvement in organizational, academics, role model, school participation, and responsibility.  Presented as short essay and two staff members recommendation identify success in those areas.

Outstanding Performance in Complementary Courses - Awarded to students who have exhibited outstanding achievement, effort and attitude.

French Award - Awarded to the student who has contributed to the development and success of the French Program including both the French language and culture.

Band Award - Awarded to the Grade 9 student who has shown outstanding growth, commitment, and leadership skills in band throughout the year.  This individual has demonstrated advanced level proficiency on their instrument, and has contributed to the band in a positive and responsible manner, enhancing the musicality of the band as a team in addition to fostering their own advancement as a musician.  A plaque is presented.

Drama Award - Awarded to three students; selected from both Drama 1 and Drama 2 Options.

Food Award - Awarded to a student from each semester of the Foods Option who have exxhibited outstanding achievement, effort and attitude.

Leadership Award - Awarded to student(s) who throughout the school year, have contributed consistently to the planning of school events through the Leadership class.  These students will be reliable, hard workers, who often go beyond expectations to ensure positive school spirit.

Special Services Award - Awarded to student(s) who have shown exceptional efforts in organizing and operating school activities.  This student shall be chosen for his/her leadership abilities.

Outstanding Athletic Award - Awarded to one male and one female student in junior high.  The recipients of this award will have participated in school sports with superior ability and will have demonstrated strong leadership in athletics.  These students will receive a certificate and pin.

Sportsmanship Award - Awarded to one male and one female student each in elementary and junior high.  The recipients of this award will show the qualities of good sportsmanship and teamwork.  These students will receive a certificate and pin.
