Physical Education Program
PE goal for this year is to have 100% participation from every student.
PE Outline
Teacher: Mr. Requa
Course Information:
This course is to enable students to develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to live an active healthy lifestyle. The physical education program emphasizes active living, with the focus on physical activity that is valued and integrated into daily life. Also, the program provides the student with a wide variety of activities.
Course Materials:
Students need a CLEAN pair of indoor runners and a change of clothes for every P.E. class.
Class Routines, Rules and Policies:
Participation operates on a "3 strike system"; students have 3 inexcused classes of not participating, after that it is an automatic "0" for their participation mark, which is 20% of the student's mark.
Excused note:
A note from a parent will excuse the student from that class and the non-participation will not be counted as a strike. This is an easy 20% for the students. Participation is an expected part of this subject. If participation becomes an issue, parents will be contacted. Each time a student does not change for class they will have to fill out a form explaining why.
Students:
- Need to be ready to participate. (5 min to change)
- Horseplay will not be tolerated.
- No complaining about activities.
- Respect others.
NOTICE: Lilian Schick School recently refinished the gym floor. To maintain the beautiful finish, students will be asked to wear indoor, CLEAN runners. NO outdoor shoes will be permitted. NO shoes, means no participation, therefore affecting student's mark.
The first activity will be soccer and X-country run. Students will be running off school property with a teacher from the begining of September to the end of October. Any other activities off school activity will be notified by Mr. Spenrath.
